William Anderson Story

William Anderson ran his business in 41 South Street from 1832 until his death in 1867, aged 76. His son George carried on the business until 1892, and the firm survived until the 1920s. The clock face is beautifully painted with roses and garden tools. It has been a permanent feature in the museum since opening in 1981. We hope to hear it chime once again once restored.
