Arriving by bus, train or taxi
The 92 Bus goes from Leuchars Railway Station to Union Street. The bus timetable and stops can be found here: https://moffat-williamson.co.uk/timetable/service-92-mon-sat
The 99 and 42 Bus Services also travel regularly from Leuchars Railway Station to St Andrews Bus Station.
The 9B service, which only travels within St Andrews, frequents the closest bus stop to the museum on North Street. The bus timetable and stops can be found here: https://moffat-williamson.co.uk/timetable/service-9B
All buses are accessible and can accommodate one wheelchair.
The nearest railway station is Leuchars station approximately 8 miles from the Museum.
Taxis are available at the station. If you require an accessible taxi, we suggest you book this in advance.
You can plan journey by car or public transport using https://www.traveline.info/ simply enter your postcode and ours, which is KY16 9PW, to get directions.

Parking
Free on-street parking is available at the east end of North Street from the Younger Hall to the Cathedral, along the Scores and down the Pends. There are two disabled parking bays directly opposite the museum. Please check local street signage for parking charges.
Accessibility
Wheelchair access to the museum garden can be arranged by either filling in our pre-booking form, emailing museum@stapt.org.uk, or calling us on 01334 477629 to arrange. Unfortunately, the interior of the museum building is not fully accessible to wheelchair users and those with limited mobility. There is also limited space for prams. Families & Children
The museum and garden is a wonderful place for children to explore and learn with fun activity sheets, a magical fairy garden and outdoor toys and games.
Activity sheets for children and young people are available within the Museum. During your visit please ask a Museum Guide who will be happy to assist. We also have some activities for children and young people that can be enjoyed from home

Guided Tours
Guided tours of the museum and garden can be arranged by appointment by calling 01334 477629 or by emailing museum@stapt.org.uk. Guided tours are charged at £4 per adult and last around 45 minutes. Tours can be conducted for groups of no more than 8 people.

Tours of the Town
Our team of local volunteer guides would be delighted to share their knowledge of St Andrews and its history with you. 100% of ticket sales from the tours support the ongoing running costs of the museum. Tips are gratefully received by our guides.

Groups
We are delighted to welcome groups to our Museum and can offer a visit tailored to both the setting of our Museum and your group. So that we can ensure that your party can make the most of the visit we always ask group organisers to book in advance. There is no charge for group bookings. We welcome donations which contribute towards the running costs and the work of the Museum. School and Education Groups
Bring your class along to St Andrews Preservation Trust Museum. Learn about the social history of our historic town, from how to mix and grind herbs in the Chemist Shop to weighing out a pound of butter in Aikman & Terras the Grocers Shop. We can also show the children how to roll their sleeves up and wash clothes in “Great-Grannie’s Wash-house”. There are a number of displays and artefacts to encourage children’s learning and stimulate their imagination.
We can adapt our workshops for online learning via Microsoft Teams Live. Safeguarding is paramount and participating classes would only see the presenter and questions can be asked after the session. We are more than happy to provide worksheets for you to continue learning in the classroom!
